1 week Sweden with Flytastic

After months of tying, the moment had come to test the flies in Sweden. The boxes were full and the anticipation was huge.

By plane and car we finally reached our destination Sorsele, the exit for our fish trains. Yanick from Flytastic has organized everything well in advance.

Already on the first day we were blessed with a super dry fishing and beautiful grays. Especially the Catskill CDC #12 that I tied caught very well here. But also the well-tried Elkhair Caddis tied to #16 was successful.
In deeper gumps, nymphs also caught successfully, with less the color and shape than more the size and weight being crucial. A really great start to our week.

Day 2-4 we spent directly on the river. With tent and tarp we have set up our camp. Wonderful so far out in nature. No reception, no street noise, no waste. Dreamlike!

The fishing was challenging in the wild waters with the natural and varied river course. But we were rewarded with beautiful fish and enjoyed the time outside in nature.

In the evening, of course, a campfire had to come and with a good drop (or two) the day was completed.

The days went by as if in flight and the last day had already arrived. From the accommodation we went again a few throws and catch some beautiful flagbearers. Then it went back to packing for the return journey. Daywatch 4 o’clock in the morning so that I am in time at the airport in Lulea… and then, back home.

Thank you Ivo and Yanick for the beautiful and eventful week in beautiful Sweden. It was a great time with you. Soon, tight lines 😊
